Brian Wild, Former Advisor to Cheney and Boehner, Joins Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s Washington, D.C. Team

Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce the addition of another highly regarded Republican Party advisor, Brian Wild. Wild will join Brownstein’s Government Relations Department as a policy director in its Washington, D.C., office. The firm is ranked fourth in the country based on annual lobbying revenue.

“Brian is a strong hire for our growing bipartisan D.C. team,” said Marc Lampkin, Government Relations Department chair and Washington, D.C. office managing partner. “As a veteran Republican lobbyist, Brian will add great depth and experience to our outstanding public policy team. From the decades he’s spent in D.C., Brian knows how to navigate the most challenging situations and has strong relationships on both sides of the Capitol with members of leadership, committee chairmen, and rank-and-file members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. He will focus on issues impacting both small and large employers in tax, labor and health care, and issues as diverse as transportation and agriculture policy.”

Before spending time at Mehlman Castagnetti Rosen Bingel & Thomas, where he worked for a variety of business and trade association clients, Wild served as a senior advisor for Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.). During that time, he was responsible for long-term policy development for the Republican Conference and was instrumental in the creation of the Republican agenda for the 111th Congress known as the Pledge to America. Prior to that, he served as the vice president for The Nickles Group LLC where he was a lobbyist and strategist representing clients’ interests before the Congress, the White House and regulatory agencies.

Wild also served in several other capacities in Washington, DC, including: deputy assistant for legislative affairs for former Vice President Dick Cheney; chief of staff and legislative director for Rep. Patrick Toomey (R-Penn.); executive director for the Grassroots and Advocacy Programs for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; director of congressional and public affairs for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; legislative assistant for former Sen. Hank Brown (R-Colo.); and started his career as an assistant political director for the Colorado Republican Party.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University.
