Jochim, Christine A.

Attorney, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission

Law Clerk, U.S. Department of Justice, Environment & Natural Resources Division

Respected counselor on environmental enforcement and compliance issues. Skillfully handles legislative and regulatory matters involving local and federal environmental agencies. Strategic coalition-builder.

Christine Jochim guides water and wastewater utilities, real estate developers and industrial manufacturers through regulatory processes related to environmental, health and safety issues. She frequently represents clients in permitting and enforcement actions brought on by the EPA, USACE, NRC, OSHA and state equivalents such as CDPHE. Christine also advises clients in the purchase and sale of contaminated sites, avoiding impacts to wetlands and protected species, navigating water quality permitting issues and rulemaking proceedings, and developing workable solutions to pressing environmental issues, such as emerging contaminants.

With vast connections among top environmental and water-quality players, Christine has the rare ability to build cross-industry coalitions around regulatory issues. These coalitions are often critical in helping clients address compliance and enforcement needs to keep their business or project moving forward.

While attending law school, Christine concurrently completed a master’s degree in public health with a focus on environmental and occupational health. She frequently draws on this experience during her recent work with organizations to ensure compliance with workplace safety standards related to COVID-19. This, along with her time in the public sector an attorney with the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission and her experience in private practice in Washington, DC for a global law firm, gives her a unique perspective on her client’s most important regulatory challenges.
