Andy Meyers' practice integrates real estate, water resources, mining and construction. He provides a comprehensive approach to the acquisition, development, management and disposition of commercial, residential and industrial assets.

With his experience resolving the distinct challenges inherent in water rights and water infrastructure transactions, Andy is uniquely qualified to negotiate and close complex transactions. Andy has served as counsel for the purchase, sale and joint use of all classes of water rights for municipal and industrial uses, and has negotiated the development, purchase and construction of several large-scale water storage and conveyance facilities.

Andy also negotiates construction and design contracts with a particular focus on construction defect risk mitigation. His work includes office and retail, multifamily housing and water infrastructure projects ranging from $10 million to $200 million.

He represents the owners and operators of large residential, commercial, industrial and multi-use projects in the development, conveyance and operation of their assets and advises on matters related to common interest ownership structures. He also oversees legal representation for the leasing and operation of multiple commercial and office projects.

Representative Matters
  • Led the acquisition of 14,000 acres of farmland in eastern Colorado, together with 18,000 water shares for a private equity firm.

  • Represented Miller Global Properties in a joint venture formation and acquisition, financing, development and leasing of office buildings consisting of a three-building, Class A office complex with approximately 640,000 net rentable square feet, three parking structures containing a total of approximately 2,400 spaces in Houston, TX.

  • Counsel to Miller Global Properties in the negotiation and closing of the acquisition of a 400,000 square foot office building in Houston, TexasOur representation included the negotiation of the related acquisition financing, and the structuring and documentation of the joint venture which acquired the property.

  • Represented a real estate investment firm in the negotiation of leases and amendments for first-class office and retail space in a portfolio of buildings in downtown Denver, and provided advice on lease defaults.

  • Represented the Yuma County Water Authority Public Improvement District in the $20 million acquisition of all senior surface water rights on the North Fork of the Republican River in Colorado, as well as the lease of water rights to the Republican River Water Conservation District for use in Colorado's compliance under the Republican River Compact.
