Leighton, James W.

Jimmy Leighton brings an acute attention to detail and a keen ability to navigate complex transactions to his corporate practice at Brownstein.

Prior to joining Brownstein, Jimmy was an associate in the financial restructuring group of a large D.C. law firm., where he represented clients in out-of-court and in-court restructuring scenarios. While there, Jimmy guided clients through Section 363 asset sales, assisted with drafting plans of reorganization and disclosure statements and participated in high-stakes negotiations with creditors and government entities. While in law school, he served as a judicial intern for Judge Susan G. Braden of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and was a staff editor of the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties and Civil Rights. Prior to law school, Jimmy worked as an intern in the legal department of Boulder Brands, Inc., a health and wellness-focused food company based in Boulder, Colorado.
