Combining a background working with startups in Silicon Valley and a comfort with a wide swath of the tech industry, Ben Ryan brings a nimble approach to his patent prosecution practice.
Ben has worked with clients in a range of fields and industries, including consumer electronics and software, electromechanical devices, biomedical devices, apparel and aerospace. No stranger to the frenetic pace of startups as well as a culture of innovation, he helps guide his clients through complex intellectual property considerations based on business needs and strategic growth objectives. A quick learner, he strives to understand clients’ technology and business goals to provide strategic advice, perform patent quality analysis and assist with preparation and prosecution of patent applications.
Ben’s experience also includes counseling pro bono clients in Project Homeless Connect legal clinics, veterans’ legal clinics and immigration clinics.
Prior to joining the firm, Ben worked as an associate with a law firm’s patent group in San Francisco and Mountain View, California, and as a clerk with an environmental and energy law firm in Austin, Texas.
